Fireworks are a Tradition for the May 1-4 weekend in the Golden Horseshoe. Here’s where you can see them!

Yes, this weekend is the official start to summer. The first long weekend of the lazy, hazy, crazy days of the hot summer. And we Ontarians do like to start summer with a bang. The weather is going to co-operate on Monday with clear skies and temperatures in the mid-20’s.

Here’s where you can oooh and aaaah at the sparkling, crackling fireworks shows in and around the GTA .

Fireworks at Dundas Driving Park

Head to Hamilton and celebrate Victoria Day with some live music, food trucks and fireworks! Maybe get a little hike in early before everything goes down in the evening. And you can park for free at any one of the Dundas Municipal Parking lots!

Victoria Day SpeedFest

Head out to Bowmanville for the Victoria Day SpeedFest. The Victoria Day SpeedFest features the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, along with fireworks, and lots of events for the whole family. The fireworks show, launched at dusk from Corner 1, is a spectacular celebration for your first long weekend of the summer.

Canada’s Wonderland

Celebrate Victoria Day weekend with rides and the best fireworks in the region. Each fireworks show at Canada’s Wonderland has a unique design with an original sound track and over 6,000 colourful explosions, you won’t want to miss it.

Ashbridges Bay Park

Ashbridges Bay has always been a local favourite and returns this year with its annual display of lights. Boasted as “Toronto’s only Victoria Day fireworks” the show will last 14 minutes. Be sure to take transit, finding parking can be tricky!

Niagara Falls Fireworks

For 25 years, Niagara Parks has hosted Canada’s longest running fireworks series.
Head out to Queen Victoria Park for a fantastic fireworks display set off from below, at the river’s edge, creating a memorable show above the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. This year there is an expanded schedule, with 111 fireworks shows, including daily fireworks throughout the summer. The series begins with special holiday shows over the Victoria Day!  Take advantage of the GO Niagara Seasonal Train, starting weekends from May 18.
